CKC moved to a new location. We went from a tiny studio that was 11 x 24 ft to 3800 square feet.

The new location will allow me to also coach on Sport Performance which is a big part of what I do.

American Rules & Girevoy kettlebell lifting sports coaching will be now potentiated in this facility.

Kettlebell Fitness sessions have now some cross training added to it since we have plenty of room for TRXs and other fun and effective training tools. Kettlebell lifting is still the main focus during this sessions but we chose carefully other tools that enhance it.

Come visit us. We are just behind Colorado Brazilian Jiu Jitsu on the intersection of E Asbury ave and Fairfax, only a few blocks from Evans and I-25.

Jordan started assisting me at the club last year to prepare for his kettlebell lifting certification test. Due to the schedule and personal obligation he wasn’t able to spend as much time training as we wished he would but that has all changed. Jordan is an active athlete at Colorado Kettlebell Club and an avid instructor.

Jordan participated in the ATSCI kettlebell lifting instructor course this past....

Long gone are the days when the term "boot camp" meant just what it really is. The conditioning or military recruits (Basic Training) and an efficient way to weed out the meek. What today is usually known as a bootcamp - at least in the civilian world - is in general a random series of workouts that range from the very intense, in some cases, to play time with a lot of cheering along the way, in others, depending on who you train with.

unnamed x7jzgkbll3

Boot camps vary and so do the results you will obtain depending on how you train. An important thing to keep in mind is that in general these workouts are meant to develop overall fitness or to maximize calorie expenditure. If you are an athlete you may be doing something similar during your GPP (General Physical Preparedness) However good boot camps (it should be called fitness camp to be more exact) are available.

Most of us like to do some workouts outside and when done properly a good way to develop general fitness. Training outside in the morning it's a great way to clear ones mind and to start the day full force. Meeting a group to workout in the evenings helps a lot of us to wind down and relax. In addition, most adults are not engaged on a formal sport and a boot camp it's a more friendly setting and perhaps a stepping stone to take their fitness to higher levels.

What's Crestmoor Park Boot Camp like?

Our program focus is on Endurance. We approach strength development from a muscular endurance stand point and train cardio at all levels (aerobic and anaerobic endurance). Improved flexibility and joint mobility are also an important pillar of the training we offer and they are practiced every session.

agility

What can you expect from the Crestmoor Park Bootcamp?

  • To be coached by experts: Well organized sessions that will add years to your fitness and deliver consistent improvements.
  • Cross training: Each session includes different training methods. Kettlebells (we are a major provider of kettlebell lifting education ranging from national teams, SWAT and Special Forces, to physical therapists, chiropractors and personal trainers. See www.atsci.org for more information) TRX (Coach Nico Rithner is part of the official TRX Force Team to train our military), Ropes, etc. Sessions will vary but always with the end in mind so you will make the best out of every session with us.
  • Education: As a strength and conditioning coach I can't allow my students to practice with poor technique. It would just go against everything we preach. Our exercises have an advanced and beginner alternative to meet different skill and conditioning levels.
  • To have FUN: Training hard and responsibly it’s done best when you are engaged and having fun.

jordankb-trxcombo

We are starting the program Wednesday July 8th (my birthday!) and it will continue in our new space when the weather gets cold (we are moving to a 3800 square feet space in August)

Don't hesitate to send me an email if you have any questions.

See you at the park!

Rick - a facebook friend - requested a video tutorial on the kettlebell lifting Double Snatch. This is a technical and difficult exercise and a full tutorial would take a DVD on its own to teach it. So I uploaded an overview. This should provide some important guidelines and get him - and those interested - get started.   One of the problem most lifters encounter with this lift is handling the descending portion of the lift - we call this "casting". Once the kettlebell is cast, if not done cor Tags: Untagged

Working on an article for My Mad Methods magazine (www.mymadmethods.com) I had the opportunity to meet with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Professor David Ruiz. We had a great meeting and went over several training application of the ATSCI kettlebell lifting system to MMA training and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu specifically. In that occasion Professor Ruiz invited me to come back and run a kettlebell-only conditioning session for his students. I was very excited about this opportunity. Cross training with running intervals Adam and Rachel today's workout. We always do cross training at Colorado Kettlebell Club. One way or the other, we are always mixing things up and combining kettlebell lifting with other techniques. This evening was so nice we headed out to the soccer field next door. We took some light bells and the TRX - a suspension training system we use often but in this case we just used for stretching and rowing. The focus today was cardio. We kept bells very light Tags: Untagged

The double Half Snatch is one of the four techniques in American Rules competitions we train weekly at Colorado Kettlebell Club. This lift full body movement is very dynamic and works great for interval training as well as for heavy lifting. Recently My Mad Methods (www.mymadmethods.com) published an article I wrote on this lift for the February issue. Check it out.   Open publication - Free publishing Tags: Untagged

Hello I’m Nico Rithner, welcome to my first blog entry in the club site. Thank you visiting the "Colorado Kettlebell Club"  website. CKC is a tiny - but mighty! – place where my students and I come together to train in American Rules kettlebell sport. What's American Rules? American Rules - in a nutshell - is a combination of strength endurance designed to produce well rounded athletes that are strong and can go the distance.  This sport requires high levels of both strength and end Tags: Untagged
